Meetups, demo nights, and study groups for people who write code in the 518. Free, volunteer-run, neighborhood-scale. First-timers always welcome.
Come hangout with us after work at Workspace.place in Troy!
518.codes was founded by three software engineers who met at Startup Tech Valley in May 2026. We hit it off immediately — trading business ideas, comparing go-to stacks, talking through where we each wanted to go in software — and kept landing on the same idea: the 518 should have a real community for the people who write code here. So we started one.
We are not a conference. We don't have sponsors, swag, or a stage. We're a group of people who like to hang out, write code, and support each other and the community around us. Anyone can host, and everyone is welcome — junior, senior, between jobs, between languages. Wherever you are in your career, you have a place at our table.
› Show up. Say hi. Bring a friend.
Submit a one-paragraph proposal. We help with logistics, copy, and getting the word out. You pick the date, the room, and what you want to talk about. We bring the people.
